I appreciate you wanting to get to know me a little better! Owned by myself, Michelle and my husband Matthew, Patten Bookkeeping Services is a family-owned and operated business. We are both “ranch kids” who loved our own childhoods growing up around some of the hardest working folks in the country.
I grew up on both a dairy farm in northern Minnesota and a cattle ranch in southeastern Montana, or what I like to call “God’s Country”. I come from a long line of farmers and ranchers and love my agricultural roots. I have spent my career working with farmers and ranchers and have loved every second of it. They are some of my favorite people- I truly mean it! That is what inspired me to open my business specializing in bookkeeping, training and CFO services just for Farmers, Ranchers, Agribusiness Owners and Entrepreneurs. Check out a few of our happy customers here! It won’t take you long to figure out that I am an avid coffee drinker, book reader and love the smell of horses. I am a graduate of Montana State University-Billings with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Business Administration, where I graduated Cum Laude. I have over 6 years of bookkeeping and accounting experience. I am a QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor and currently working toward becoming a Certified Bookkeeper and Enrolled Agent with the IRS.
My husband, Matthew (almost) always goes along with my crazy ideas. He is a graduate of North Dakota State College of Science with his Associate’s Degree in Electrical Technology, graduating at the top of his class. He is now an Instrumentation and Electrical Technician with Denbury Resources. He is my biggest supporter and likes to use his family discount whenever possible. Matt is an avid hunter and comes from a long line of cowboys, including his grandfather Charles Patten, a Montana Cowboy Hall of Fame inductee.
Both Matthew and I are involved in helping on the family ranch, giving us the insight and experience with the struggles of the daily life on a farm and ranch. We love this life so much and appreciate the opportunity to share it with our daughters, Lillian(2) and Abigail(3 months).
